I’ve been working in the world of content for around nine years now, starting during my journalism studies at Stirling University in Scotland. While I was there, I split my time freelancing for magazines, volunteering, and going kayaking (though, if I’m honest, I was part of that club mainly for the socials).
When I graduated with a 1st in 2019, I knew I wanted something different from a career in journalism, so I moved to Manchester and got a job as a corporate document writer, writing marketing materials for business sales. After two years there, I became an in-house copywriter at AO.com before leaving to join Own Your Space as a content writer and editor.
I’ve written about pretty much any business or industry you can think of. From industrial companies in South Africa and debt-help firms in Canada to set design, renewable energies and the humble home goods sector. You name it – I can write about it.
Now, at Own Your Space, I’m writing pretty much any type of content you can think of; SEO webpages, product overviews, blogs, socials, email – take your pick. It’s incredible to be a part of such a dedicated, passionate team and to know that quality content is at the heart of everything we do.
When I’m not writing, you’ll probably find me sitting on the couch with a brew and a book or out walking in the hills with my golden retriever, Sid.

When I left my previous roles it was always because I wanted more – more opportunities, learning, challenges and growth. At Own Your Space, I’ve found a team that wants the exact same thing. Getting comfortable with where you are isn’t an option here, and I absolutely love that. We are constantly pushing each other to do the best for our clients and ourselves. Once we’ve done that, we find a way to do it better.
The variety – literally no day is the same.
I love sailing and pretty much anything to do with the ocean. I was born on a boat, grew up around boats, and when I was 17, I sailed across the Atlantic.
Everyone is winging it in some way, and no one has all of the answers. So, say yes to every opportunity you can and remember that the times you feel the most uncomfortable and out of your depth are the times you’re learning the most. Also, the manager you choose is just as important as the job itself.
Travelling through snow-covered fields in Poland on a horse-drawn sleigh. I don’t think that needs any explanation – it was epic.
