Chris Ware - Head of Development at Own Your Space

About Me

My journey with Own Your Space started in 2020 during its early years. I joined as a developer with five other staff members, a tiny office space, and a small client base. The last four years have been a rollercoaster filled with growth and learning, and I now head up the Development Team with a team of six, working on some really cool and exciting projects.

Typically, my day-to-day revolves around the smooth operation and success of the development team; scheduling in work, enhancing processes, scoping and costing projects, with the occasional build/feature addition, thrown in here and there.

In my spare time, I still enjoy playing cricket, going to the cinema, spending time with my girls, and going out for an occasional pint and a meal.

What has been your biggest highlight working for Own Your Space?

I am proud to have seen the team grow from a small agency with a handful of staff and clients to a bustling agency with clients all around the globe! Being part of the development of my team and helping to shape the agency to get to where we are today is a huge accomplishment for me.

What is one thing you wish you knew when you started your career?

No degree will quite prepare you for the day-to-day life inside an agency. Each day is full of different scenarios that you’ll need to navigate.

Do you have any hobbies or interests that people might find surprising?

I love learning about old castles and what life was like in the Middle Ages. I find that whole world fascinating.

Do you have a favourite book, movie, or TV show?

My favourite film would have to be American Gangster or most things with Denzel Washington in it. I could list out a fair few films with Denzel that are 10/10.
